Barcelona has plenty of 4-star hotels, if you like good hotels, but you are not up for 5-star prices, this is your option, you can get good prices in less busy or centric parts of town that are accessible by public transportation. Being in a centric location means higher prices but it all depends on what are your priorities regarding accommodation.

4-star hotels have similar facilities to 5-star hotels but without all the fuss, they have a gym, a buffet of breakfast with a well-assorted buffet, a lounge are and most of them with a terrace where you can have a drink and enjoy the views of the city.

Recommended 4-star hotels in Barcelona

As mentioned, it depends on your priorities but my recommendation would be to stay near the city center but not in it. At night the center is noisy and busy and if you like a bit of quietness you would rather be in a more local neighborhood. Barcelona is very well connected by public transportation so it will not be a problem if you are staying in another part of town.

If you would like to stay in the city center I recommend you:

  • Hotel Barcelona Catedral: I love their terrace, in summer is the perfect spot. The hotel is located in the city center but in a hidden corner, their rooms are spacious and the hotel has eve
  • Hotel Neri: it is an a magical square called Plaça Sant Felip Neri where in 1938 Barcelona bombings left the walls of this square with plenty of holes as a consequence. Although the hotel is in the city center, it is a bit hidden from the main streets so it will be quiet.
  • Hotel Pulitzer: the rooms are gorgeous, well designed and comfy beds. They have a nice lounge where to take a drink, even if you are not staying you can go for a snack.
  • Aparthotel Arai Superior: it is a beautiful hotel, very well designed and by Derby hotels collection.
  • Condes de Barcelona: They have a wonderful terrace called Alaire, minimalist rooms well designed right in the high-end street of Passeig de Gràcia.

If you would like to stay in a quieter location I recommend you:

  • Ayre Hotel Rosellón: hotel located in the Sagrada Familia area, very near the center but far enough to be quiet at night.
  • Hotel Grums Barcelona: whitely decorated rooms located in Montjuïc, in the mountain side of the city.
  • Granados 83: high end materials used in the room and very good mediterranean restaurant.
  • Meliá Barcelona Sky: They have a great lounge and cocktails, rooms are fancy and comfortable.
