W hotel Barcelona

W hotel Barcelona

The W hotel is one of the trendiest places in town and can be seen from the coast, since it has the shape of a sail and now has become one of the skyline buildings more famous in town. The building was designed by Ricardo Bofill and it is located in the beachfront, in the Barceloneta boardwalk. The hotel has 473 rooms with amazing views of the city and the Mediterranean sea. I haven't slept in the hotel but I have been there in different occasions in their discotheque and bars, they offer a good selection of cocktails and food.Wet Bar and W loungeIf you think of summer, the Wet Bar as they call it is the terrace bar with access to an incredible pool right in front of the sea. It is the perfect end for a hard working week or an after work. They also organize parties with famous DJ's once in…

5 star hotels in Barcelona

5 star hotels in Barcelona

Barcelona has plenty of 5-star hotels, more than 20 and this number grows every year. Many of the 5-star hotels belong to an international chain but there are also individual hotels with high standards that are worth to stay at.What distinguishes a 5-star hotel from other categories is the level of service and high standards in everything they do. The location tends to be centric or with spectacular views, the amenities are luxurious and they offer services than in other kinds of hotels are not the norm. All of them have a pool, in Barcelona normally a tiny one so do not expect to compete in the Olympics in their pools, a gym and most likely a spa among other services such as a gastronomic restaurant or even one with a Michelin star.Recommended 5-star hotels in BarcelonaA 5-star hotel in B…

Bed and Breakfast in Barcelona

Bed and Breakfast in Barcelona

Bed and Breakfast are a bit of a different concept, you stay at someone's house, you are hosted by someone so the stay is more personal even though it is a business, of course, but you have the chance to have contact with locals. In general B&B are a more affordable accommodation, cheaper than hotels but the style and coolness of posh hostels which were always the cheapest, arrived too for bed and breakfasts so you will see some boutique ones.We have selected some of the best due to their positive reviews and location in the city. Most of the bed and breakfasts are located in the city center as is where the majority of tourists would like to stay, near the attractions and the beach.Violeta Boutique: it is a boutique BB, close to public transport, restaurants and tourist sites. Hostels Barcelona

Hostels Barcelona

Barcelona is a young city and as such has a wide variety of hostels to choose from, a hostel is a good choice to meet other travellers that are in the same city and a good option to save some pennies in accommodation. Hostels normally have shared facilities such as kitchen, laundry and even a play room or some a library or a lounge area to stay.Hostels are probably the cheapest accommodation after services such as coach surfing, you can find shared dorms from as little as 15 euros per person per night in Barcelona. If you are in a tight budget or you want to spend your money in something else that is not accommodation, a hostel might be your best option and you don't need to sacrifice being comfortable or having the facilities you need.People believe that hostels are only for the youngest…

Hotel 3 stars

Hotel 3 stars

If you would like to stay in a fancy place but with a reasonable price and less luxury than 4 or 5-star hotels a 3-star hotel might be the perfect accommodation. The city has a huge range of accommodations of this category. As any hotel of their category they offer private rooms with air conditioning, Tv and minibar, they might have a restaurant too than in hotels of lower rating they most likely don't have one. It is convenient sometimes to eat at the hotel if you are tired so it depends on your plans.Recommended 3-star hotels in BarcelonaWe have listed a selection of the best ones in our opinion, they are in a good location, high standards, good design or very good reviews from guests. I will start with Hotel Market since we slept there for one night, it is very good value for money, y…

Hotel 4 stars

Barcelona has plenty of 4-star hotels, if you like good hotels, but you are not up for 5-star prices, this is your option, you can get good prices in less busy or centric parts of town that are accessible by public transportation. Being in a centric location means higher prices but it all depends on what are your priorities regarding accommodation.4-star hotels have similar facilities to 5-star hotels but without all the fuss, they have a gym, a buffet of breakfast with a well-assorted buffet, a lounge are and most of them with a terrace where you can have a drink and enjoy the views of the city.Recommended 4-star hotels in BarcelonaAs mentioned, it depends on your priorities but my recommendation would be to stay near the city center but not in it. Hotel Market: boutique style hotel at a great price

Hotel Market: boutique style hotel at a great price

Hotel Market is a boutique style hotel in Barcelona, it has a lovely minimalistic design that makes you want to stay at the hotel. It is located right in front Sant Antoni market, I love this area, full of life and it allows you to visit the city as a local. The hotel belongs to the Andilana group, we stayed with them in Palamós and they also have restaurants in Barcelona, one of our favorites La Rita. Although the hotel is a 3 star hotel it definitely looks like a 4 star due to the design and comfortable furniture. The standard room is a bit tiny but perfect to discover the city, so you won't be much in the room. Only to sleep and get energy for the next day. I stayed in my own city at the Hotel Market, the same day that I was going for 080 fashion closing event so I took some time t…

I was the lucky one to win a 100 euro voucher for La Roca Village at the blogging night, yuhuuu ladies shopping day at La Roca. We started the night of Friday at Aspasios in Rambla Catalunya 42, right in the city center so we took the chance to go have dinner at one of our favorite restaurants: Kynoto, a japanese restaurant, amazing sushi. We then headed to the apartment to drink something and enjoy our views from La Rambla Catalunya in our dreamed apartment. I loved my super wardrobe, I felt like Carri…

The hostel has a sports court, swimming pool and in the middle of green natural environment just 15min with the train from Barcelona city centre. What makes this hostel special is people, their 90% of their staff has disabilities, primarily mental. Their staff is amazing, they were very nice with us at all times and I believe that everyone has the same rights and deserves the same opportunities. It is a great project that employs people with disabilities showing them and also society that yes, we can.…

Mandarin Oriental Barcelona luxury in Passeig de gràcia

Mandarin Oriental Barcelona luxury in Passeig de gràcia

I had the chance of doing a visit in Mandarin Oriental in Barcelona, I have also worked in the hotel so I know it quite well on the inside. It is a special spot of luxury in middle of Passeig de Gràcia. A luxury 5 stars hotel that defines itself in every single detail with interior decoration by Spanish designer Patricia Orquiola. I love the decoration in the hotel minimalist but with soul, there is a common style on beige colour around the hotel. The hotel is in a superb location, it is in the finest shopping area of the city and also minutes away from Gaudi's buildings. MO Barcelona rooms The hotel has 98 rooms in total, 10 of them suites. Very chic materials in rooms, bathroom sinks are made of one piece of corian, exclusive amenities from different brands depending on the room categ…
