Prices are subject to change but here you will find my selection of accommodations in Barcelona for May 2016. The prices shown below are the total amount for 7 nights for a double room found in Booking.com with an average review rating of 8 or above. Prices go from 100 euros to 200 euros per night depending on the accommodation.
My cheap hotels choice for May in Barcelona
Ilunion Bel-Art: 879,12 euros for 7 nights a double room (This one rated at 7.5, but it was worth it mentioning it!)
Ilunion Bel art features contemporary décor and it is located in the Horta area, a 15-minute walk from the hotel to see Gaudí's Park Güell and the impressive Hospital de Sant Pau. It is a quiet are full of locals and very convenient to move around as you have the metro and buses nearby.
BCN Urban Hotels Gran Ronda: 883,58 euros for 7 nights a double room
Just 200 m from Universitat Metro Station, Hotel Gran Ronda has stylish, air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and flat-screen satellite TV. Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas are a 7-minute walk, not bad uh? If you like to be right in the middle of town, this is your hotel choice! You have numerous attractions and restaurants nearby, different means of transport available.
Leonardo Boutique Hotel Barcelona Sagrada Familia: 974,70 euros for 7 nights a double room
Leonardo Boutique Hotel Barcelona Sagrada Familia is located just 15 minutes’ walk from Gaudí’s famous Sagrada Familia. The hotel has a nice rooftop with panoramics views of the city and rooms with free wifi! The nearest metro station is clot, just a handful of stops to the city centre, a 10-minute ride.
Derby: 954,80 euros for 7 nights a double room
Located just 300 m from L’Illa Diagonal Shopping Centre, the Derby is a 20-minute walk from FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou stadium. Their rooms have air-conditioned and free internet access. The hotel Derby is one of my favorites, I slept there a couple of times and they have an impressive collection of Catalan art including pieces of Tàpies and Miró.
Pol & Grace Hotel: 956,80 euros for 7 nights a double room
Pol & Grace Hotel is located just 100 m from Barcelona’s Plaça Molina and Sant Gervasi Train Stations. It is a modern hotel that has a library and an area displaying works by local artists. The Fontana Metro Station is just 600m away, and offers direct access to Plaza Catalunya, Las Ramblas and Parc Güell. You will be in the popular Gràcia district that is full of artisans and local shops, restaurants and bars.
Hotel Abba Sants: 865,80 euros for 7 nights a double room
The hotel is located in Sants neighbourhood, very near Sants metro station, less than 5 minutes walking from there. Modern rooms with air conditioning and good combination of transport to visit Barcelona.
Astoria: 975,92 euros for 7 nights a double room
Astoria hotel is just off Barcelona’s Diagonal Avenue, a 5-minute walk from Diagonal Metro Station and Paseo de Gracia Avenue. It has a rooftop pool with views, a sauna and gym. A perfect choice for May and good weather! The Astoria Hotel combines original Art Nouveau features with modern facilities.
Hotel Sagrada Familia: 989,50 euros for 7 nights a double room
Located just 2 blocks from Sagrada Familia, this hotel has a rooftop terrace overlooking Gaudí’s world-famous church. Another nice hotel I tried, is a cosy hotel, the best rooms are the ones on the higher floors and some have a terrace. It is near the Glòries shopping center, a 20-minute walk to the mall and it is well connected with the city through the metro and the bus, only a 10-minute ride.
Catalonia Sagrada Familia: 786 euros for 7 nights a double room
It is located in Sagrada Familia area, but this ones is from the Catalonia chain and has an outdoor pool and a gym. The nearest metro station is Clot, L2 that takes your right to the centre in 10 minutes. Walking distance you can go see the Agbar Tower and the Glòries shopping Center. Free wifi is available!
My luxury hotels choice for May in Barcelona
Welcome to my luxury picks of May 2016, sometimes having a little luxury doesn't have to be as expensive as you might think so I will include each month a section with the best deals of the month to sleep in 5-star hotels!!
Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel 5*: 1331,54 euros for 7 nights a double room
Princesa Sofia Hotel is near the FC Barcelona’s Camp Nou Stadium, in the posh area of town. The hotel has soundproofed rooms with air conditioning, satellite TV and even a pillow menu! If you choose to stay in a room with a marble bathroom you will have amenities and bathrobes provided as well. The nearest metro station is Maria Cristina, L3 and you have L'Illa Diagonal shopping centre 15 minutes walking from the hotel.
Gran Hotel La Florida 5*: 1672,65 euros for 7 nights a double room
If you like nature and you want to sleep surrounded by it, this is your place. Hotel La Florida is located in the Tibidabo Hill and offers amazing vires of Barcelona and the Mediterranean sea. Rooms have free wifi, plasma Tvs and their bathrooms have amenities from l'Occitane, an old time favorite of course. Guests also have access to the Zen Zone Spa that includes a swimming pool indoor and outdoor, a hot tub, steam bath and a fitness centre. The hotel offers a free shuttle service that connects Barcelona city centre with the hotel 3 times a day.
