I had the chance to stay at Melon District Marina in Barcelona. If you have never heard of it this is the info you are looking for. Melon district is a complex that offers services just like a student residence but also offers accommodation for travellers.

Melon District has two buildings in Barcelona one in Marina and another one in Poble Sec. I stayed at Melon District in Marina, near Glòries underground line 1.

The complex has different buildings each floor with a kitchen where you can prepare your emails and you room has a space in the fridge so you can store your food too.

Every room has a bed, a desk with shelves, a wardrobe and bathroom ensuite. There is fast internet with cable, the cable is provided at the reception desk that is opened 24 hours a day.

The wireless is only for common areas, so if you are travelling with an ipad you will need to go to the reception to do your stuff on the internet. We were lucky and due to the location of the room we could connect to the wifi on the floor.

For travellers is a good option as you have the possibility to cook and have a kitchen to access, a comfy room for a competitive price and in a complex where you can have access to the swimming pool and solarium too for the same price.

We had a good time and the thought it was practical if melon district would be in other cities apart from my own (Barcelona) I would definitely stay another time.

There are different kinds of rooms, single and double and also duplex rooms with more space or even studios. We stayed at a double room, me and my boyfriend and the only thing that we missed was our big bed of 2m wide –I love to sleep as a star fish-, as the bed of the double room in Melon District is 135cm.

Room+at+Melon+District

There is a cafeteria downstair to have breakfast and there is the possibility of having half board if you are living in the residence might be a good option if you don't want to cook.

As a student residence Melon District organizes different activities every month, most of them free of charge with your monthly rent. Also you can purchase a weekly cleaning pack if you don't want to clean during your stay.

Disclaimer: This stay has been offered by Melon District. As always the opinions are my own. You can't buy love.

That sure looks like a nice place to stay. So cool that it comes with a sun deck and a pool! Is it located in a good area? I'll probably be in Barcelona in October. Might check this place out:)

Hi Sofie! Yeah the pool and the sun deck are extra points for sure. So, the area is around las Glories mall, and near metro stations. Although it is not in a super touristy area, it is a neighbourhood near transportation and a good place to visit Barcelona, no danger in there. We use our motorbike to go around Barcelona, easy and fast way of transport, but you have underground L1 Las Glories and L1 Marina and tram nearby. If you need any recommendation do not hesitate to drop me an email.
