The Olympic Stadium of Barcelona called Estadí Olímpic Lluís Companys was originally built in 1927 and ready in 1929 due to the International Exposition in the city. But the Olympic Games didn't land in Barcelona until 1992 when it was finally used.

During its construction and the time it was used, different architects such as Correa, Milà, Margarit, Buixadé, Gregoretti had collaborated in its rebuilding. Right the same year is when the Spanish Civil War started.

It can accommodate up to 65 000 people it is the stadium of the 2nd team of football of the city: The"Espanyol" and sometimes is used for other events such as championship for Athletics and American football events too.

Another use of the stadium has been host of concerts of many famous artists, including Muse, AC/DC,Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, David Bowie, Coldplay, Deftones, Fiction Plane, Guns N' Roses, Michael Jackson, Jean Michel Jarre, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, Madonna, Shakira, Metallica, Mudvayne, Pink Floyd, The Police, Prince & The New Power Generation, RBD, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Mavis Staples, Sting, Tina Turner, U2 and Van Halen, among others.

In the same area you can find other Olympic facilies that still remain nowadays such as: l'Anella Olímpica where the Picornell swimmingpools are, the jumping pools in MontjuIc, the hoque fields and the Palau Sant Jordi -concerts stadium-.
