The Rambla del Raval is a street that is the centre of Raval area and the youngest of Ramblas in Barcelona. As you know if you have read our Las Ramblas article, a Rambla is a wide street that looks like a boulevardwhre you can find people going up and down up la Rambla. It is a trendy street full of restaurants and cafés, if you are around lunch time I would recommend you Hotel Barceló brunch, delicious.

El Raval during XX century was called the "chinese neighbourhood", it was the most dense area in Barcelona and with hard conditions to live in for the neighbours.

In 1955 the city hall decided to open up spaces in the area and once of them was to built the Rambla del Raval, the perfect place of gathering and where to celebrate cultural events in the area too.

As mentioned, now is an area with plenty of services and the hotel Barceló on it so there are tourists around and plenty of bars to go to, it is a nice area as well to go for a cocktail at night.

One of the main attractions is the big Cat by Fernando Botero, it is a big statue of a cat that is placed in La Rambla, kids love it and it is a curious thing particular to this street.
